I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I did! Spending time with my family is my absolute favorite thing to do. Did you have time to get your Christmas tree and decorations out? I know it can be really overwhelming, but it can also be a lot of fun. Today, I’ve got some tips for decorating your home for Christmas. Whether you’re almost done or just getting started, read on for some tips for keeping your decorating simple and organized.
SIMPLE AND ORGANIZED CHRISTMAS DECORATING
Get ready. Delegate other members of your family to help, get everything out of storage, and separate your decorations according to areas in your house.
Plan and prioritize by picking focal points in your home. This is important, especially, if you’ve decided for one reason or another to cut back on your decorating. Choose your favorite decorating spots in your house and just do those, if you like. If you want to go for the gusto and decorate as much as possible, then you really should consider giving out different jobs to your family, working in groups on different focal points.
These are my favorite focal points to decorate.
- The Christmas tree
- The fireplace
- The front door and foyer
- The dining room table
- The stairway
- The outside
Well, I hope you enjoyed a little peek into my home with my family’s decorations. It’s not really anything elaborate. My family and I really just want our decorations to be traditional, warm, and cozy feeling. Make sure your decorations fit your family and your lifestyle. That will be what makes your Christmas special.
After you’ve finished putting out your decorations, be sure to re-organize your boxes and containers and put them back in storage in a way that will make putting everything away even easier than getting them out. You might want to consider replacing some worn out containers.
After getting all that done, how about hosting a Christmas or New Year’s party? I’ll have a helpful checklist coming up next time to get you organized and ready for a festive party.
Till next time, have a wonderful day!
